A downloadable game for Windows

Siphon is a second-year university group project developed entirely by our team, in Unreal Engine over the span of 5 months. It’s a dark, souls-like action RPG set in an industrial-inspired world. You play as Kael, a lone hero with the ability to siphon abilities from corrupted enemies.

Explore elemental islands, each inhabited by unique enemies and a powerful final boss. While you can choose to face these bosses with your base abilities, the game offers layers of strategy and chance: defeat mini-bosses, absorb their powers, and stack the odds in your favour.

Siphon blends risk, exploration, and tactical combat, giving players the freedom to choose how much power they need before stepping into the storm.

Siphon features an atmospheric game world designed to reflect its dark, elemental themes. The starting zone, the main street, functions as the player’s initial traversal area and sets the tone for the thunder and lightning-themed island. It is a linear, semi-open space marked by environmental storytelling, collapsed structures, debris-covered paths, and abandoned homes that suggest recent destruction and a world left behind. Navigational routes are partially obstructed, encouraging players to explore alternate paths and verticality.



The Boss area is positioned at the end of the island, located within the corrupted town square. This closed combat zone is visually distinct, characterised by corrupted crystals, scattered enemy corpses, and ambient visual effects to emphasise the boss’s lingering presence. The arena layout is designed to support high-mobility combat, with a balance of open space and limited cover to enhance tension and visibility during the encounter.

Download the ZIP file, extract all from the ZIP, click into the Windows folder, the Unreal Engine EXE is the game, it will open in a new window.
